Who we are

Dr. Regina Ward Porter

Minister Dr. Regina Ward Porter earned her Doctoral Degree in Counseling Psychology
Education from the University of Sarasota; a Masters of Arts Degree in Professional
Counseling from Georgia School of Professional Psychology; and her Bachelor of Arts
degree in Business Education from Clark Atlanta University. She is a Licensed
Professional Counselor (LPC) and have completed extensive research on issues
surrounding individuals with anxiety, depression and trauma. She is the founder/owner
of Elise Psychological Services, LLC established in 2008. We provide individual, and
couples therapy; specializing in adjustment, anxiety, and depressive disorders. Dr. Ward
is an ordained minister, who views her practice as a ministry. We inspire individuals to find healing, walk in purpose and live in wholeness.She is the author of a book titled THE AWAKENING (ASK HOW TO PURCHASE) This book will educate, inspire and uplift all who reads it.
She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia., in which she currently reside. She is a member of Delta
Sigma Theta, Inc.; she enjoys hiking, creating, and enjoying time with family and friends.

Alicia J. Ward, Author, Momrepreneur, Educator

Alicia Ward is a devoted wife and mother of two adorable children living in Metro Atlanta. She graduated Cum Laude from the prestigious Tuskegee University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After completing her degree, Alicia began her professional career as a Commercial Production Underwriter in Atlanta. During her time in this role, she faced her first experience of being laid off, which was a long and challenging journey that left her with feelings of brokenness and low self-esteem. Despite these hardships, Alicia fought her way back into viable employment.

As life often repeats itself, Alicia experienced a significant layoff from her job at a post-secondary college after nearly fourteen years. Unlike past layoffs, she felt a sense of peace about this change, which she viewed as a gift from God. Inspired by this, she aimed to encourage others to discover and embrace their own purposes. This led her to create the blog “There is Life After Layoff®,” which became successful enough for her to host a radio show of the same name. Through these platforms, Alicia wrote her first book, “There is Life After Layoff: Rediscovery and Empowerment Journal,” sharing her journey and personal growth. She was also invited to co-author a compilation book titled “If Her Purse Could Talk.”

Alicia realized she had a calling to educate young people, which led her to become a middle school
paraprofessional. In this role, she assists teachers in teaching new concepts and helps translate information so
that students can understand better. She also works with students who have special needs. Alicia’s primary goal
as a paraprofessional is to help students develop the skills they need to become independent, both in and out of
the classroom. This position has given new meaning to her life, and she takes her responsibilities very seriously.

customer service to multiple counseling practices while maintaining HIPAA compliance standards.

In society, there exists seven main mountains (Economy, Government, Family, Religion, Education, Media & Celebration) of influence. All of which, are currently under demonic authority. God has created each of us, with unique abilities. Our assignment is to seek and fulfill the purpose that He has called us to. It is then our responsibility to use our gifting to reverse satan’s power over these mountains.

Generally speaking, in any game, when you know the plans and strategies of your opponent, you will then possess the skills or knowledge required to defeat them. The Awakening is one tool that will provide you with both practical solutions and resources to combat the enemy’s plan.

The Awakening is a book that will educate, inspire and uplift all who read it.
